African American Community, Cultural and Educational Society Call for Art

AACCES, in partnership with DrewBoy Creative, extends a call for art highlighting African American contribution through culture, community, and education to the Tri-Cities and beyond.

This show is in honor of the late Robin Mitchell, a long time champion of the arts and pillar of leadership and light in our community.

The show will be curated by an AACCES Selection Committee. All mediums will be considered. This is a juried show, with awards given to artworks that best represent the spirit of the show, including a people's choice award. Preference will be given to African American artists and artists who reside in the Tri-Cities, WA.

This show is sponsored by &yet.  Our sponsor has provided $1,000 for artist stipends. The funds will be divided between the participating artists. If you are interested in sponsoring this art show and increasing the stipend funds, contact DrewBoy Creative at callfa.dbc@gmail.com.

Exhibition of art will likely be in May and June of 2021. The art show opening will be determined by the COVID-19 Phase we are in the Tri-Cities, WA. AACCES and DBC reserve the right to bump the date out to provide for the safest and most successful show possible.

AACCES wholeheartedly supports the fight against racism, police brutality against people of color, and an unequal justice system.  We as individuals, and as an organization, send our condolences to George Floyd’s family and friends, and to all those who have lost someone to police violence.  We stand with the peaceful protesters trying to bring about change and have America live up to its promise of equal justice for all, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. AACCES will work toward this end. We thank those who put their health and lives on the line for this cause and will support them.
